KVKN
Bio
Born in Ecuador and now based between France and Germany, KVKN creates raw, driving techno shaped by acid, 90s trance, Latin sounds, political context, and collective practice. KVKN’s sets are direct and physical, treating the club as a space for resistance and assembly. KVKN is the founder of El Semillero, Ecuador’s leading electronic music collective and festival, which also operates as an agency connecting Latin American artists with European platforms and vice versa. KVKN also runs Concrete Club in Quito, the city’s only queer underground venue. Alongside the DJ practice, KVKN has built platforms for emerging artists while curating cutting-edge events across Latin America and Europe. KVKN leads Concrete Lab, an educational extension of Concrete focused on masterclasses and listening sessions that foster artistic development and exchange. Through these platforms, KVKN has been instrumental in building safer dancefloors, supporting emerging artists, and strengthening queer visibility in a context marked by social repression and violence. Beyond the booth, KVKN is active as a curator, journalist, and community organizer, supporting LGBTQ+ scenes across continents. Recognized internationally, KVKN serves as a Mixmag Latam Ambassador, connecting the Latin American electronic music community to the global stage, and has been highlighted by Mixmag Netherlands as one of the leading figures in Latin America’s techno scene. KVKN’s work and sound have been featured on platforms such as HÖR Berlin, Mixmag, and Radio Rudina. KVKN has contributed to Mixmag in the Netherlands, Germany, Latin America, and the Caribbean, as well as Disidnt= Magazine in Mexico, and continues to connect regional scenes to international platforms. KVKN’s work includes collaborations with scenes in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. KVKN has performed at iconic venues and events such as RSO, KITKAT, Gegen, Sextou, Boudica, Club OST, Kilomètre 25, ADE, Fvtvr, KitKat Club, Tunnel, PervertMX, and has shared the stage with artists including Ellen Allien, Adam Beyer, Parfait, Nico Moreno, Patrick Mason, Sara Landry, Hector Oaks, Dax J, Daria Kolosova, Samantha Togni, Ruiz Osc1, Metaraph, Somniac One, Cera Khin, Perc, Slam, Lacchesi, UFO95, among others. KVKN’s sound remains intense and uncompromising, rooted in resistance, identity, and collective power.
