As the reverb washes from the concrete we hear the echoes of an alternate way of being: a call to the unknown. Over five days in late July KUNE festival makes home to the island of Ungdomsøen in a communal exploration of locally rooted, volunteer led, boundary pushing cultural expression. Amongst the slow creep of nature over historic concrete fortifications and with expansive views across the Nordic sea, a highly curated programme of art, music, talks, and activities takes root. Across four stages past editions have included artists such as Woody92, dj sweet6teen, C.K., Tornado Wallace, Hewan Aman, Fafi Abdel Nour, and an expansive list of artists both local and international. A vision made manifest of the power of free and collective experience at the intersection of art, technology, culture, and nature. It's a delve into those deeper recesses of the human experience, a conduit through which alternate spaces are formed.
